Nevam

Network of Virtual Autonomous Metaverses (NEVAM) is a social network for blockchain-hosted metaverses, empowering creators with unlimited personal spaces for self-expression without fear of censorship, content ownership issues, or privacy loss. It revolutionizes digital interaction by providing a safe, inclusive environment for individuals to connect and showcase their unique visions.

NEVAM supports NFTs for content ownership with zero gas fees, seamless posting, and the ability to buy, sell, rent, or lend them. Creators have all the networking tools needed to build communities and promote content without external influences. NEVAM offers a fair, secure digital environment, addressing the shortcomings of outdated, centralized social media platforms.

Key contributions

Product Discovery:

  • Analyzed the market and competition to gain better understanding of key trends and identify potential gaps  
  • Led product discovery with multiple iterations, validating the problem through target market interviews
  • Refined and tested the solution until it evolved into a high-fidelity prototype with multiple enhancements
  • Conducted user testing for the hi-fi prototype and gathered feedback to improve the product’s value and usability

Product Scope:

  • Established the product’s vision and mission, guiding scope and roadmap development
  • Identified key differentiators and created a go-to-market strategy
  • Designed blockchain-based social media dynamics and structure aligned with NFTs and metaverses
  • Developed NFT and metaverse utilities and features and the business model based on that
  • Created the project roadmap and documented it in a light paper.

Team Building:

  • Developed recruitment strategy for salary-free, profit-sharing model & recruited a global team within two weeks
  • Established remote work guidelines and company culture 
  • Implemented agile project management for planning and execution
  • Fostered continuous learning and improvement

  • Managed a team of 4 developers and 3 designers

Branding:

  • Developed the branding identity from scratch, including naming and visual identity.
  • Conducted in-depth interviews to test the branding’s target market appeal and fine-tuned it based on the findings.

Product Building:

  • Collaborated on tech stack development
  • Created design system style and UX/UI design requirements
  • Oversaw feature creation from PRDs to testing and shipment.
  • Directed metaverse art creation
  • Conducted user testing and iterated to improve UX
  • Maintained technical documentation and support materials
  • Researched new technologies for innovation

The result

With a team of 8 people, our project progressed significantly with 60% of the backend and all metaverses completed, and 10% of the frontend developed, all without any investment. However, the project is on hold, and I learned valuable lessons.

A specialized CTO in our field was essential for success, which we lacked. Additionally, building such complicated MVP with zero investment is often unfeasible in today’s market. Securing a small seed investment is crucial to attract key players and successfully launch the MVP.

Last, but not least, understood that balancing product management, marketing, art direction, and CEO duties simultaneously hinders efficiency.
